Elders Update

Dear KBC Family,

As you are all well aware, this morning at 12:01am, Ontario entered into a “Modified Step 2” due to the continued and rapid increase of the Omicron Covid-19 variant. We are thankful that this latest variant, though highly transmissible, is significantly less severe than past variants, hopefully serving as a sign that we are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

With these new restrictions now in place, the elders met last evening to pray and discuss how these new health measures would effect ministry at KBC over the coming weeks. In a desire to be submissive to our provincial leaders and do our part to aid in the navigation out of this latest Covid wave, the following decisions were made.

1) Sunday Services — Beginning with this coming Sunday, we will be moving back temporarily to an online service format in which we will be live-streaming our service from KBC at the regular time of 10:30am. While we know that many would like to attend our services in person, with the increase in cases we felt this was the best option in protecting both the KBC congregation as well as our volunteers. The plan is to move to an online format for our services for the next three Sundays as we continue to monitor provincial and health guidelines in hopes that we will be able to return to in-person services on January 30, 2022.

2) All Other Ministries — With indoor social gatherings now limited to 5 people, effective immediately we will be moving all other ministries to Zoom meetings. This will include all our mid-week studies (Precept, Ladies, Young Adults, Youth and Children). This will also include our upcoming “Reason for God” series as well as our Church Family Prayer Night, scheduled for January 13, 2022. Ministry leaders will be in touch to ensure you have the correct meeting links and this information will also be available in the Friday Newsletter.

We know for some of you this news will be disappointing to hear, and we too will miss being able to meet together, but when we weighed all the options we felt the Holy Spirit was leading us to make these short term decisions for the long term benefit of the KBC family as well as our witness to the communities around us.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email the elders at elders@kingbiblechurch.com.

In His Service,

The KBC Elders

We stress the importance of gathering together as a church and encourage everyone to join us online each week and in person as soon as we are able. Please continue to pray for our elders and government leaders as they make these decisions and the safety and health of the people.

We need your help to open safely

Finally, in order to open safely we need your help!

1) We need you to please be gracious and commit to following the various guidelines that we have had to put in place to ensure everyone's health and safety. Masks and social distancing will be required as well as sanitising your hands upon arrival.

2) We need you to sign up each week that you plan to attend our in-person services. When you sign up you will be required to answer the self assessment questions.

3) Your children are very welcome to attend these services. We know that your kids will have wiggles, or need something quiet to fiddle with, and may make a little noise; but that's all part of being a church family together. There will be tables set up at the back of the church available for families to sit at to accommodate this, and can be reserved by selecting this as an add on during registration.  Therefore, please let us know whether your kids will be attending the in-person service by emailing the Kids Ministry team at kidsministry@kingbiblechurch.com.
